The MVSA Audit

The Melbourne Vascular Surgery Association is internationally recognised for its surgical audit program. This program involves data collection from all active MVSA members of details regarding surgical procedures and 30-day outcomes.

This data is then analysed independently for deviations from the norm, and any outliers take part in a comprehensive review process, designed to maintain quality of surgical care.

Once a full audit and quality assurance cycle is completed, results are published and available for public review.

The MVSA Audit reports are available on the Victorian Department of Human Services Website.

The MVSA Audit program has been the inspiration for the ANZSVS Bi-National Audit program, encapsulated in the Australasian Vascular Audit (AVA). More information is available about this new audit at the ANZSVS website. The MVSA is pleased to have been involved in the evolution of this audit system and encourages ongoing quality assurance amongst its member and all vascular surgeons.
